If you buy windows from any decent Seattle-area window and door company, they’ll offer you a warranty. That’s easy for them to do. After all, most window manufacturers offer warranties on all of their products. So, it’s not really the window company offering the warranty. They’re just passing along the benefits already provided. Most homeowners don’t realize that the manufacturer warranty covers the physical window itself, but not the installation. (And a bad installation can ruin a good window.)
The installation company may offer a 1-year installation warranty. There are two problems with those installation warranties. The first problem is loopholes. We’ve heard this so many times! “We had a warranty. But apparently it doesn’t actually cover anything!” The second problem is that most installation issues take longer than a year to become noticeable. Eighty percent of your window is not visible to you. It can take a while for what’s going on “behind the scenes” to become evident. When you start to see the problem, it’s probably a significant problem.

If it’s an issue with the window itself, we’ll coordinate with the manufacturer to have it serviced under their warranty. We know that dealing with warranty issues is a pain! But if an issue comes up, we are going to make it as painless as possible for you.
As an added service, we file your manufacturer warranties on your behalf. When you get your final documents from us, you’ll get a copy of everything.
